A 52-year-old man died after being shot in Highgrove, authorities announced Sunday.
The shooting happened at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday near Prospect Avenue and Spring Street in Highgrove, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Upon arrival deputies found Julio Ortega of Jurupa Valley dead from his injuries.
The suspect allegedly fled the scene prior to the arrival of deputies.
Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit and Jurupa Valley Station responded and identified the suspect as Arnulfo Prado, 34, of Riverside.
Deputies attempted a vehicle enforcement stop after locating Prado, but he allegedly fled in his vehicle and pursuit was initiated.
Prado surrendered at the 400 block of El Dorado Road in San Jacinto, according to authorities.
