A suspect is in custody Friday after they were barricaded for two hours inside an apartment building in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called just after 3 a.m to the 300 block of South Bonnie Brea Street regarding reports of a shots fired call inside the building, LAPD Officer Matthew Cruz told City News Service.

Officers surrounded the building and took the suspect into custody without incident after 5 a.m.

A Fox 11 tweet stated two people were detained prior to the suspect’s arrest but Cruz said he could not confirm that.

Cruz said officers remain at the scene, interviewing witnesses and conducting their investigation of the incident.
