The shooting occurred about 10:30 a.m. near Compton and Redondo Beach boulevards, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported. No deputies were injured.

Deputies conducting an operation involving a felony warrant suspect at a home in the 15000 block of Wadsworth Avenue, spotted the suspect near the intersection of Redondo Beach and Compton boulevards.

At some point, the suspect ran though residential backyards one block east to the 15200 block of Stanford Avenue, where he allegedly shot at deputies and a second deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was struck by gunfire and rushed to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
