A compliance check on a Long Beach man on probation led to the discovery of a ghost gun in his home and his arrest, authorities said Saturday.

Long Beach Police Department officers assisted Los Angeles County probation officers Tuesday in a check of a residence in the 1100 block of Jackson Street, according to an LBPD press statement.

The officers found 41-year-old Jimmy Franco at the residence and discovered an unserialized firearm, illegal firearm paraphernalia and several rounds of ammunition, police said.

Franco was booked with no bail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a prohibited possessor with ammunition and a parole violation, police said.
