Approximately 100 firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department extinguished a fire in a four-story apartment building in Panorama City Monday.

Firefighters reported smoke showing out of the apartment building located at 9010 N. Tobias Ave.

By 8:15 a.m. Monday, firefighters extinguished the fire that consumed at least five of about 200 apartment units, according to LAFD.

Paramedics evaluated at least five people on scene for injuries and illness, and two people were taken to a hospital for unknown reasons.

LAFD said it took firefighters 44 minutes to knock down the fire.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
