Three people were taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a traffic collision between two motorcycles in Thousand Palms.
Fire crews responded around 9:30 a.m. to eastbound Interstate 10 near Monterey Avenue in Thousand Palms to a report of the traffic collision, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Fire officials said that three people were seriously injured and taken to a hospital within an hour.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area as the eastbound 10 was shut down for an unknown duration, according to fire officials.
California Highway Patrol officers remained on the scene to investigate the traffic collision.
