Police searched Tuesday evening for a carjacking suspect in Venice near the Santa Monica border.
Santa Monica Police Department officers initially responded at 8:45 p.m. to the 100 block of Main Street regarding reports of a carjacking near one of the city’s beach parking lots, Sgt. Frank Marnell told City News Service.
The suspect fled the area into nearby Venice and crashed the vehicle. Los Angeles Police Department officers from the Pacific Division station created a perimeter at Main Street and Rose Avenue and a search is underway from the suspect, LAPD Officer Tony Im told City News Service.
A suspect description was not immediately available.
