An hours-long standoff with a man believed to be barricaded inside a Lake Balboa home ended early Wednesday when police determined the suspect was not at the residence.
Officers initially went to the 6600 block of Gaviota Avenue about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday to serve a felony warrant, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The officers, believing the man was barricaded in the residence with a weapon, surrounded the home and established a perimeter in the neighborhood.
But around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers determined the suspect was not at the location, the LAPD reported.
Efforts were continuing to find the suspect, police said. It was not immediately known what crime he was wanted for.
