A man suffering from blunt force trauma to his upper torso was pronounced dead in Commerce Thursday, prompting an investigation by the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.
Deputies from the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded at 5:56 p.m. to the 6400 block of Flotilla Street, two blocks west of Garfield Avenue, where they found the victim, who was not breathing, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.
The assault occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m., authorities said.
The victim was described as 35-45 years old.
