Fire crews made quick work Friday of a fire that erupted in a building on the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank, briefly sending a thick plume of black smoke into the air.

The fire broke out around 2 p.m. and was quickly controlled by arriving crews.

It was unclear what caused the blaze, but unconfirmed reports from the scene suggested it may have involved a blown transformer or other electrical issues. After the flames were doused, fire crews responded to at least one report of people trapped in an elevator on the studio lot, where some power was apparently knocked out.

There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
