The brush fire that burned one-acre Thursday in Duarte has been completely contained.

Firefighters stopped the forward progress of a one-acre brush fire in Duarte Thursday.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched at around 6:53 p.m. to the 100 block of Westvale Road, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman.

Fire and support crews have cleared the area and the city of Duarte has shut down the Emergency Operations Center, city authorities said.

Crews stopped the fire’s forward progress shortly after 7:35 p.m. According to a statement from Duarte authorities, two homes were evacuated and Encanto Park was closed due to fire helicopters refueling in the area.

No structures or lives were lost and no injuries were reported, Duarte authorities said.

The evacuated residents have been able to return to their homes and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
