Fire crews extinguished a brush fire Friday in Elysian Park that burned approximately five acres of vegetation.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the 400 block of Solano Avenue, near Amador Street, around 2:35 p.m. to a report of a light brush fire that had burned less than two acres, according to Margaret Stewart of the LAFD.
Around 3:25 p.m., five acres of brush had burned, prompting fire crews to establish hose line operations around the entire perimeter, Stewart said. It was contained at five acres shortly after 3:50 p.m., and fire crews began conducting a clean-up operation and would remain on scene to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
There were no reports of injuries or structural damage, Stewart said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
