An Inglewood man was sentenced Wednesday to eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman who was targeted while walking her dog in Redondo Beach.

Edwin Alberto Donissuchite, 23, pleaded no contest in a Torrance courtroom Wednesday to a felony count of sexual penetration by use of force and admitted an aggravating factor that the victim was particularly vulnerable, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

The woman was accosted just after 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 2, 2021, while walking with her dog in the 500 block of Diamond Street, near Redondo Union High School and Pacific Coast Highway, according to police.

A witness ran to assist the woman and detained the suspect until police arrived and took him into custody without incident, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.

Donissuchite has been in custody since his arrest, according to Los Angeles County jail records.
