A 45-year-old man fatally struck on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Sherman Oaks was identified Friday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paramedics were sent to the northbound freeway near Ventura Boulevard about 7:15 a.m. Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Gary Mullarney was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the L.A. county medical examiner’s office and fire department. Mullarney’s city of residence was not made available.
Two northbound lanes were blocked, along with the Ventura Boulevard off-ramp, while an investigation was conducted, according to the California Highway Patrol.
