A brush fire burned through approximately one acre of brush fire Monday in the Tarzana area, but no injuries or structural damage were reported.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded around 1:50 p.m. to an area near the 18600 block of Mulholland Drive to a report about a remote fire in an area of heavy brush in steep terrain, according to spokesman Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It took 75 firefighters about an hour to halt the fire’s spread, with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority.
Prange said that while the fire had been stopped, crews were still working late Monday afternoon to establish full containment lines around the blaze.
It was unclear what may have sparked the fire.
