Firefighters contained and put out a fire with heavy flames at a residential duplex north of the Fairfax District Thursday.
Fire crews were called at 3:14 a.m. to 645 N. Gardner St. and Melrose Avenue where they found flames coming from the attic at the one-story complex, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Brian Humphrey.
It took 35 firefighters 31 minutes to extinguish the fire.
No injuries were reported.
