A 52-year-old man struck by an SUV and killed in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles was identified Friday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Javier Millan was struck about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at Vermont Avenue and Knox Street, and died at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office and Los Angeles Police Department.
According to police, Millan was hit by a beige BMW SUV that was northbound on Vermont Avenue. The 42-year-old man driving the SUV was detained for questioning, police said.
