Two suspects in a high-speed chase of a stolen car that began in Ontario were believed to be holed up in a Walgreens pharmacy in Monterey Park Wednesday evening
The chase of the Dodge Challenger on the Pomona (60) Freeway reached speeds over 100 mph, according to KCAL. The suspects jumped out of the car at the corner of Collegian Avenue and Dorner Drive, then ran into the Walgreens, KCAL reported.
Monterey Park Police Department officers and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies set up a perimeter around the building but did not see either suspects exit, according to KCAL.
Authorities ordered everyone inside to exit the pharmacy. One by one, each person walked out of the front doors with their hands up but authorities failed to find the two men, prompting a standoff, KCAL reported.
