A brush fire broke out Tuesday behind a residence in Homeland, burning roughly two acres before Cal Fire aircraft slowed its advance, enabling crews to begin establishing containment lines.

The non-injury blaze was reported about 12:35 p.m. in the area of Juniper Springs Road and Dagmar Lane, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that two Cal Fire air tankers were first to arrive at the location, encountering flames moving at a moderate rate behind a property in the 33400 block of Dagmar.

The tankers immediately initiated runs on the brusher, cutting off its eastern flank and giving ground crews time to work their way around the fire, according to reports from the scene.

As of 1:10 p.m., the blaze was partially contained and not threatening any structures.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
