A fire damaged a vacant commercial building in the Mid-Wilshire area Friday, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters sent to the 900 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard about 12:25 p.m. extinguished the flames in the single-story building in about 15 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The firefighters went into a defensive mode and contained the fire to the 50-foot-by-35-foot structure, which had been converted from a residence to a commercial building, the LAFD reported
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
