An attic fire was quickly extinguished Thursday in the Jefferson Park area of South Los Angeles.
Fire crews were called at 1:47 a.m. to 3504 S. Fifth St. between Jefferson and Exposition boulevards where they found the flames confined to the attic and a room in the rear corner, said LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
It took 40 firefighters 16 minutes to put out the fire.
No injuries were reported.
