A 40-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Corona, police said Saturday.
The crash was reported at 10:10 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of E. Parkridge Avenue, where officers found a man lying on the roadway with significant injuries and surrounded by vehicle debris, according to the Corona Police Department.
Officers later located a vehicle in the 300 block of N. McKinley Street with damage consistent with the collision, according to the Corona PD.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 53-year-old Samuel Reyes of Riverside, and he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, but was later released.
Reyes’ possible involvement in the crash was still under investigation.
The victim was later identified as Rodrigo Hernandez of Corona.
