A death investigation was underway Tuesday in Santa Monica, authorities said.
The investigation was being conducted near 15th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Information on the victim’s identity or cause of death was not immediately available.
“We ask that you stay away from the area as we continue to collect evidence,” police said in a statement early Tuesday afternoon.
“Traffic on Santa Monica Blvd is not impacted,” police said. “We anticipate 15th Street will remain closed between SM and Broadway for an extended period of time. There is no additional information available at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.”
