A 55-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday to shooting a man and at his wife in Santa Ana and was immediately sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Jose Martinez Martinez pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder and assault with a firearm, according to court records. He also admitted sentencing enhancements for discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury, attempted premeditated murder and discharge of a firearm.
Martinez was given credit for 730 days in jail since his arrest last year.
Martinez shot a man in the upper chest area Jan. 31, 2022, and shot at his wife, who was not wounded, according to police.
Martinez later turned himself in, police said.
