Firefighters contained a second-floor fire at a mixed-use, three-story building Wednesday in Koreatown in under an hour before finally extinguishing it.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews were called 4:11 a.m. to the 600 block of South New Hampshire Avenue and Sixth Street where they battled the stubborn flames at the building, which has one floor of residential units and two floors of commercial use, LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

It took 53 firefighters 54 minutes to extinguish the flames.

No injuries were reported.
