Fire damaged a vacant commercial building in Hollywood Monday and left a firefighter injured, authorities said.

The fire was reported in the two-story building in the 6800 block of West Sunset Boulevard about 11:15 a.m., according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“Firefighters found fire in one room on the first floor of the vacant commercial building,” Prange said. “It took 30 firefighters 21 minutes to extinguish the flames. One firefighter sustained a non-life-threatening injury and will be transported for further care.”

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
