Firefighters knocked down a fire inside a 599-square-foot back house in Boyle Heights Sunday.
The blaze at 2731 E. Winter St. was reported at 4:54 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The department dispatched 28 firefighters to the scene and they extinguished the flames in 16 minutes, she said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation, Stewart added.
