A man was killed Saturday when he was struck on a La Habra street by a vehicle whose driver did not stop to help him.
The crash was reported at 6:56 a.m. on Beach Boulevard and Hillsborough Drive, according to La Habra police. That is near the Westridge Golf Club.
Officers responded to a report of a man down in the northbound No. 1 lane of Beach Boulevard and found the victim unresponsive in the street, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was in his 50s and investigators confirmed a hit-and-run occurred, La Habra police Sgt. Jason Drake told City News Service.
The Orange County coroner’s office was working to positively identify the man. The crash was under investigation.
