The search continued Saturday for a French bulldog snatched while the dog’s owner was eating at a patio diner in downtown Los Angeles even though a 21-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the theft.
Sadie Slater of Los Angeles was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. Friday in Inglewood by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Gang and Narcotics Division with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s fugitive task force, according to an LAPD statement.
Slater was arrested on suspicion of robbery and was being held on $70,000 bail.
Detectives continued to search for the dog, named Onyx, LAPD Officer Drake Madison told City News Service.
Onyx was stolen on Jan. 18 around 3:45 p.m. as the victim ate at a diner in the 800 block of South Grand Avenue.
“A female suspect picked up the victim’s dog and fled,” police said in a statement. “The victim chased after the suspect as she entered a white four-door sedan, which was driven by an additional suspect.”
Police said the second suspect was described as a man in his 20s, and the getaway vehicle was a white four-door Kia Forte.
