Los Angeles Police Department traffic detectives Tuesday are investigating a two-vehicle crash in the Gramercy Park neighborhood that left one man dead and another in critical condition.
LAPD officers were called at 11:50 p.m. Monday to West Century Boulevard and South Western Avenue where they learned one vehicle, heading south on Western, failed to stop at a traffic light and slammed into a vehicle driving east on Century, killing the man driving the second vehicle, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and took a second victim to a hospital in critical condition.
The woman who was driving the southbound vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police, the LAPD spokesman said.
The LAPD’s South Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
