A 66-year-old man from Florida injured when a 40-foot tanker filled with lemon juice overturned in Cactus City died Monday.

Officers responded to a call referencing an overturned big rig tanker on Interstate 10 near the Cactus City Rest Stop at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, where they found the truck blocking eastbound lanes, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Joel Grimes of Lake Whales in Central Florida was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs where he was pronounced dead at 12:49 p.m. Monday, a deputy said.

A Sigalert was issued before 7 a.m. Wednesday and assistance was required to help with siphoning the lemon juice out of the tanker.
