A 40-year-old woman suspected of attempting to kidnap a 4-year-old boy at a Target store in Koreatown was arrested Wednesday.
The attempted kidnapping occurred at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday at the store at Next on Sixth Apartments at 620 S. Virgil Ave., between Sixth Street and Wilshire Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
She is accused of forcefully grabbing the child from behind and dragging him outside the store. She allegedly put the child down when confronted by one of his parents, then ran away.
Police said she was taken into custody Wednesday and that an investigation remains ongoing.
The woman’s name has not been released, and no further details were immediately available.
