A man was stabbed to death during a fight with a suspect at an eatery Sunday morning in Long Beach’s Belmont Park neighborhood, authorities said.
Officers were sent to the area of East Second Street and Covina Avenue at about 1:10 a.m. regarding a stabbing inside a nearby business, and found a man suffering from a wound to the upper body, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Arriving paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that there was a physical altercation involving the victim and suspect,” according to a police statement. “During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim, before the suspect fled the scene.”
No suspect description was immediately available.
The incident occurred at Dave’s Hot Chicken on 5246 Second St., ABC7 reported.
