Authorities Thursday identified a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle and killed on the Harbor (110) Freeway in the South Los Angeles area.
Edgar Ortega, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
California Highway Patrol officers sent to the freeway near the Manchester Avenue about 3:35 a.m. Wednesday found the body on a southbound lane, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.
Traffic was routed away from the area while an investigation was conducted.
