A South Bay man was scheduled Friday to make his first appearance in federal court in Santa Ana on charges of kidnapping a woman, pimping her in Orange County and then raping her in the Angeles National Forest.
Leslie Anthony Bailey, 32, was arrested Thursday on charges in a grand jury indictment handed down Wednesday and unsealed Thursday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Bailey was indicted on charges of sex trafficking, kidnapping, aggravated sexual abuse and two counts of using a cell phone for pimping, according to prosecutors. He allegedly used the phone for pimping another victim between March 7 and April 25 of last year, prosecutors said.
The woman was allegedly kidnapped on Feb. 5, 2022, and held for several days and forced into at least one act of prostitution, according to the indictment. On Feb. 8, he was accused of driving the woman into the Angeles National Forest and raping her there, prosecutors alleged.
