A man driving an allegedly stolen pickup truck was taken into custody Tuesday in Alhambra after being tracked by authorities for more than an hour while he drove a circuitous route on city streets.
The man was arrested at gunpoint by authorities at about 12:45 p.m. near Garfield Avenue and McLean Street after an apparent scuffle with at least one bystander in the neighborhood.
His name was not immediately available.
The investigation originated in the jurisdiction of the sheriff’s Lakewood Station, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
During the incident, the man drove in circles on many of the same streets in Alhambra, entering and then exiting a gas station at Garfield Avenue and Alhambra Road.
At one point, he stopped at the gas station, picked up a white bag, and got back into the truck and drove off again.
