Firefighters battled a blaze for 19 minutes Saturday evening in a commercial building in the Broadway-Manchester area that was the site of a previous fire.

The latest fire was reported at 5:47 p.m. Saturday in a single-story, 2,500-square-foot building at 11878 S. Main St., said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange. It was unclear what type of business is at the location.

Smoke was showing when firefighters arrived and took up positions in and around the building, Prange said. Firefighters found flames inside and burning up into the attic when they entered the vacant building.

“Crews advanced hose lines inside, while others ascended ladders to ventilate the roof,” he said. The flames were out at 6:09 p.m.

No injuries were reported and the cause was under investigation, Prange said.
