A man who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Pomona was identified by authorities Monday, and the search for the hit-and-run motorist was continuing.
Officers sent to Towne Avenue and Ninth Street about 1:35 a.m. Sunday found the man lying in the northbound lanes of Towne Avenue, the Pomona Police Department reported.
Marco Perez, 44, of Ontario in San Bernardino County, died at the scene, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner reported.
No description of the hit-and-run vehicle or motorist was available, police said.
