Authorities Wednesday identified a man who was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in the South Los Angeles area.

Los Angeles Police Department officers sent to the 1100 block of West Vernon Avenue about 10:35 p.m. Tuesday found an overturned vehicle with the injured man inside, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.

Police said a 2014 Honda Accord and a 2016 Nissan Versa were traveling eastbound on West Vernon Avenue at high rates of speed. The Versa lost control and crashed into a telephone pole, while the Honda Accord collided with multiple vehicles, according to police.

Tyrone Lindqvist, 44, of Garden Grove, died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

The driver of the Accord, identified as a 21-year-old woman, and two other occupants were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

“Detectives were looking into a possible crime that has been committed. Charges are still pending,” police said in a statement.

Anyone with information regarding the traffic collisions was urged to contact LAPD South Traffic Division Officer Hurd or Detective Carrilo at 323-421-2500.
