Firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate a trapped person at the scene of a two-vehicle, multi-injury collision that involved a pedestrian.
The crash occurred at 4738 W. Venice Blvd., east of La Brea Avenue, in the Mid-City area, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Of the six total patients, five were transported to area hospitals, Prange said. Two women, ages 62 and 51, were listed in critical condition; a 51-year-old man was described as in serious condition; and a 40-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl had moderate injuries. A 46-year-old man with minor injuries declined transport.
It was not immediately clear if the extricated person had been a vehicle occupant or the pedestrian. And it was further unclear which of the patients that person was.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
