A total of six people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol during two separate DUI checkpoints, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced Saturday.
One of the checkpoints was conducted from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday on Schleisman Road and Archibald Avenue in Eastvale. The other checkpoint was conducted on Cactus Avenue and Graham Street in Moreno Valley between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Four people were arrested in Eastvale on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and two others were arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended driver’s license.
Two people were arrested in Moreno Valley on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. One additional person was arrested in Moreno Valley for miscellaneous misdemeanors, and four others were arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, according to the sheriff’s department.
A total of 1,313 vehicles were screened in Eastvale and 1,035 in Moreno Valley.
Funding for both checkpoints was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
