Police Sunday sought public help to find a 75-year-old man diagnosed with dementia who requires medication and who was last seen in Santa Monica.
Ricky Anderson was last seen Wednesday in the 1200 block of 16th Street, north of Santa Monica Boulevard and near UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Detectives described Anderson as a 6-foot-tall Black man weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anderson was last seen wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and sweatpants.
The California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert on Sunday on behalf of Santa Monica police and reported that Anderson may be on foot.
The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly, developmentally or cognitively impaired person has gone missing and is determined to be at risk to provide immediate information to the public and aid in their swift recovery.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Anderson was urged to contact the Santa Monica Police Department at 310-458-2249. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
