One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Los Alamitos.
The crash was reported at 2:01 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway at Katella Avenue. Responding California Highway Patrol officers found the damaged vehicles and the victim lying in one of the middle lanes of the freeway, a CHP spokeswoman told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. It was unknown if there were other injuries and if the victim was a pedestrian or a passenger in one of the vehicles.
The CHP closed several lanes of the freeway while they investigated the cause of the crash.
