One person was killed and four others were injured, three critically, in a multi-vehicle collision in Playa del Rey Tuesday evening..
Firefighters were sent to the 8800 block of Vista Del Mar, near Dockweiler State Beach, around 7:55 p.m. to investigate a collision involving five individuals, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Upon further evaluation, firefighters discovered two trapped individuals who required rescuing.
Three victims were taken to a hospital in critical condition, while a fourth victim was taken to a hospital listed in fair condition.
The surviving victims were identified as two women, ages 18 and 30, along with an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, Prange said.
The dead victim remained inside one of the wrecked vehicles as LAPD investigated the collision.
