Firefighters made quick work Friday of a structure fire in the Hyde Park area.

The fire was reported around 10:50 a.m. in the 2300 block of West 54th Street, in a backhouse behind the main residence, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“The blaze was knocked down in 12 minutes. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire was under investigation,” an LAFD public information officer told City News Service.

Crews remained at the property to monitor for hot spots and conduct mop-up operations.
