One person was killed and four others were injured in a shooting in Compton Friday evening.
Deputies were sent to the intersection of Mayo Avenue and Greenleaf Boulevard around 7:45 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
It was unclear what motivated the shooting, and an investigation was ongoing Friday evening. The injured victims were taken to a hospital, according to the Compton Fire Department.
The extent of their injuries and conditions were unknown.
There was no description of a suspect.
