A 37-year-old inmate who walked away from a Female Community Reentry Program site in Los Angeles was taken into custody in El Monte Friday.
Erica N. Ybarra was arrested without incident around 3:45 p.m. and taken to the California Institution for Women in Chino, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
She had walked away from a program site Thursday.
Ybarra was sentenced to two years for second-degree robbery and had been housed at the FCRP site since May 15.
“The FCRP allows eligible offenders committed to state prison to serve the end of their sentences in the reentry center and provides them the programs and tools necessary to transition from custody to the community,” according to a statement from the department.
