Fire crews Monday are monitoring a fire that burned near the Hollywood Bowl and John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, injuring one firefighter.
The ire burned about 3 acres in the Hollywood Hills on Sunday. A firefighter was injured and taken to a hospital in fair condition for unspecified and non-life-threatening medical problems, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
Los Angeles firefighters with an assist from L.A. county firefighters stopped the forward progress of the fire near 2699 N. Cahuenga Blvd., which was reported at 2:17 p.m. Sunday, said Prange.
The department dispatched more than 100 firefighters assisted by water-dropping helicopters to knock down the flames in under two hours, Prange continued.
No structures were seriously threatened, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, which reported the southbound Highland Avenue exit from the Hollywood (101) Freeway was temporarily closed, Prange said.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for the Highland closure. The was no estimated reopening time for the off-ramp, according to the CHP.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
Crews remained on scene into the evening to cool down hot spots, Prange said.
