A Lancaster sheriff’s deputy en route to a call with red lights flashing and siren blaring on his patrol vehicle was involved in a two-vehicle crash in an intersection Saturday.

The crash occurred at about 10 a.m. in the intersection of 30th Street West and Avenue I, Deputy Raquel Utley of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told City News Service.

The impact caused the patrol vehicle to overturn, Utley said.

Both the deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, she said. The time of their release was not immediately available.
