Los Angeles County firefighters quickly stopped the spread of a brush fire in Canyon Country Saturday afternoon.
The fire was reported at about 12:45 p.m. in the 16500 block of West Sierra Highway, northeast of Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Fred Fielding told City News Service.
The spread was stopped at 3.6 acres at 1:12 p.m., Fielding said. That left the firefighters to clear a line of vegetation around the charred zone and put out hot spots, he said.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.
